Leadership Isn’t Telling People What to Do — It’s How You Show Up

In hospitality, leadership is about presence, communication, and consistency — not titles.

I’ve worked with great leaders and… well… not-so-great ones.
And here’s the pattern I see:

The best leaders don’t bark orders.
They don’t hide in offices.
They don’t disappear when things get tough.

They show up.

They’re present.
They’re calm.
They communicate clearly.
They listen — really listen.
They lead by example, not ego.

In today’s industry, people aren’t leaving the work.
They’re leaving the environment.

A Leader People Will Follow

If your staff avoids you, they won’t follow you.
If they trust you, they’ll walk through fire for you.

Final Thought

Leadership is earned one shift at a time.
Not with titles — with behavior.
